It's a flying car...er, drone car...er, drone boat

A promo video for a new "flying car" called the Kitty Hawk Flyer is trending online.  It's really more like a low-flying personal helicopter though.  It looks like an oversized drone that's big enough to ride on.

The one in the video is a prototype they made to fly over water.  So it has pontoons instead of wheels.  It's not clear how much they'll cost, but the company is offering a $2,000 discount for people who pre-order.  So probably tens of thousands of dollars.

Introducing the Kitty Hawk Flyer

The Kitty Hawk Flyer is a new, all-electric aircraft. It is safe, tested and legal to operate in the United States in uncongested areas under the Ultralight category of FAA regulations. We've designed our first version specifically to fly over water. You don't need a pilot's license and you'll learn to fly it in minutes.
