Rumors of Gregg Allman's demise have been greatest exaggerated -- again.
After rumors spread on Monday (April 24) that Allman was in hospice care, he quickly posted a message on his Facebook site saying, "Hey everyone. I just wanted y'all to know that I'm currently at home in Savannah (Ga.) resting on my doctor's orders. I want to thank you for all the love that you are sending. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Keep rockin'."
That's not strictly a denial of the hospice reports, of course, but does counter them somewhat.
Allman announced last month that he was canceling all shows and will not be touring at all this year due to health concerns. He's reportedly finishing work on a new album, Southern Blood, his first release in six years. The set is being produced by Don Was and recorded at FAME Recording Studio in Muscle Shoals, Ala. No release date has yet been announced.
