While we’re in the midst of “Guitar Month,” let us take a moment to recognize the 2017 induction class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, who will be inducted in a grand ceremony tonight (April 7) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The Rock Hall induction ceremony has seen its share of incredible performances, so in honor of “Guitar Month,” here’s seven of our favorite Rock Hall Guitar Performances.
“Roll Over Beethoven” (1986)
When Chuck Berry was inducted in 1986, the all-star jam was something to behold. Joining Berry for a performance of “Roll Over Beethoven” was Keith Richards, Neil Young and Steve Winwood. For good measure, they were accompanied by Billy Joel and Jerry Lee Lewis.
When Chuck Berry was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, an all-star band, including John Fogerty, Billy Joel, Jerry Lee Lewis, Keith Richards, Neil Young and Steve Winwood, charged through a raucous "Roll Over Beethoven" with de facto bandleader Chuck Berry guiding the show. http://rockhall.com/blog/post/9123_rare-performances-chuck-berry-1986-induction-live/
“Green Onions” (1992)
Just look at that packed stage! From Johnny Cash to Steve Cropper to The Edge, the amount of talent on stage during the 1992 all-star jam is simply unreal!
Paul Shaffer organized an all-star jam of Booker T. and the M.G.s classic "Green Onions," with Booker T. Jones, guitarist Steve Cropper, bassist Donald "Duck" Dunn, as well as U2 guitarist The Edge, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, guitarist Neil Young and more during the 1992 Hall of Fame Inductions Ceremony.
“Tie Your Mother Down” (2001)
One of Queen’s best guitar tracks, the band were joined by Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins for a raucous rendition of “Tie Your Mother Down” during the 2001 induction ceremony.

“Pride and Joy” (2015)
Easily one of the best guitar performances from the most recently batch of Rock Hall induction ceremonies, Double Trouble were joined by John Mayer, Doyle Bramhall and Gary Clark Jr. for “Pride and Joy.”

“While My Guitar Gently Weeps” (2004)
This performance is so good it hurts! Watch in awe as Prince, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne and Dhani Harrison just play the hell out of this Beatles classic.
