Lost Guitars: How Joe Perry Was Reunited With His 1959 Les Paul

In rock history, a number of guitars have been lost for a variety of reasons, but the story about how Joe Perry was reunited with his 1959 Les Paul is simply “awww” inducing.

Perry was appearing on Conan to promote his memoir Rock: My Life in and out of Aerosmith, when host Conan O’Brien asked him about this particular story.

As Perry tells it, it was the early 1980’s, and money was tight for him, so to make a good chunk of money fast, he sold he beloved Les Paul, which he used to record many of Aerosmith’s best hits from the 1970’s.  When Perry started to become more financially solvent, he wanted to track down that Les Paul, and it turns out it was now owned by Slash.

We won’t spoil the end of the story.  Just watch the video below, and let the “awww” wash over you.
