Background: “The Chain,” off Rumours, is the only song on which every member of Fleetwood Mac’s most popular lineup was given a songwriting credit. Singer and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham shares his thoughts on it.

Lindsey Buckingham on the only song on which every member of Fleetwood Mac got a songwriting credit, “The Chain.” OC:…everybody contributed. :21

“The only thing I remember about that is we had a great take of that in Sausalito when we were recording it and one of those little 3M machines ate it and we had to do it again [Laughs]. There’s not a lot to say about that, that was a good stage song. It certainly was a good cross-pollination of Stevie’s lyric and there was something that everybody contributed.”
