ICYMI: Peter Frampton Phones Fan Involved In Recent Show Incident

Peter Frampton has made a personal phone call to a fan who was part of some recent on-stage drama in Minneapolis.

Frampton apparently placed the call to Sherry Tupa, the fan in Red Wing, Minn. -- who help up copies of Frampton Comes Alive! and I'm In You for a video camera operator who was supposed to focusing on Frampton while he soloed -- tells the Minneapolis Star Tribune that Frampton called her personally to apologize for the incident.

Frampton tussled with the cameraman after seeing him focus on Tupa in the crowd rather than on the stage; He and his band briefly walked off, returning to finish the show sans video screens. He later apologized for the "overreaction," explaining that he "felt we had completely lost control of this special moment in the show."

Tupa tells the newspaper that Frampton was "humble and sweet" and "apologized over and over (and) talked about the fact that he did not handle it correctly." Frampton also asked Tupa to send him the copy of Frampton Comes Alive! so he could sign it, but she's demured because she already had the camera operator sign it for her. "I kind of wish I hadn't done that," she said.
