Stuffing vs. Dressing

This year's Thanksgiving debate is all about Thanksgiving's most popular food and what the proper name is for it...

This year's big question, is it called stuffing or dressing? Most of the United States agrees that the right name is stuffing, so why do some states call it dressing?

According to butterball.com the difference between Stuffing and Dressing is all about how you cook it, it is stuffing when you cook it inside of the turkey and it's dressing if you cook it by itself. Here the map to show the state by state breakdown.
