Boston and Philadelphia ban food from each city
In silly, marketing hype leading up to the Super Bowl, places in Boston and Philadelphia have decided to “ban” food items made popular by the other city.
The most glaring change happened at a Boston Market in northeast Philadelphia. They made a homemade sign to cover up Boston and it is now Philly Market.
A Philadelphia doughnut shop has changed their Boston cream doughnuts to Creamed Boston. A Boston bakery has stopped using Philadelphia Cream Cheese – which isn’t actually made in Philadelphia.
Also Boston’s Esplanade Park area has banned Philly Cheese steaks, soft pretzels and Crisco. We presume the Crisco is because it was used to grease poles in Philly to prevent fans from climbing them.
