Heavy metal icon Glenn Tipton, guitarist for Judas Priest, says he'll be quitting the road due to Parkinsons' disease.

Tipton was first diagnosed ten years ago but continued with the band until now. Andy Sneap will take his place on tour.

Tipton says he's not leaving the band, just that "my role has changed" and that he hasn't ruled out joining the band onstage in the future. His bandmates called Tipton a "true metal hero" and said he's welcome to join them any time any place on the road.
