Aerosmith: "Sweet Emotion"
The Hook: Listen to that vocal fade in and then stretch out.
Year: 1975
Album: Toys in the Attic
Writers: Steven Tyler and Tom Hamilton
Stats: Peaked at number-36 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the group's first Top 40 hit. "Dream On," recorded years earlier, was a bigger hit, but only after being re-issued after "Sweet Emotion."
The Background: Singer Steven Tyler tells us that one of the inspirations for the way the song opens came from The Rolling Stones' "We Love You," the B-side of their single, "Dandelion."

“I was inspired by The Rolling Stones song ‘We love you,' you know, when they come in from far away. That was my original idea for ‘Sweet emotion’. That’s one of the places it came from."
