A newly-discovered asteroid the size of a bus will have a close encounter with planet Earth today.

Astronomers say the asteroid, labelled 2018 DV1, does not pose a threat but will come within 70,000 miles of Earth when it passes by.

You can watch the 23-foot-wide asteroid pass by with the Virtual Telescope Project webcast, which will show views of the asteroid from the Tenagra Observatories in Arizona.
