Unusual? Yes, but there’s a good reason for the sudden sales surge.
Per Billboard, fans who recently bought tickets to the band’s second North American tour leg were eligible to receive a copy of This House Is Not For Sale. The album’s price was included in with the ticket price, and ticket buyers received a special code to receive the new album. An estimated 350,000-375,000 tickets were sold, with 120,000 codes being redeemed for copies of This House Is Not For Sale.
That’s some seriously savvy way to boost record sales. It’s almost as if Bon Jovi are seasoned vets and know what they’re doing. It's as if they belong in some sort of Hall of Fame or something.
