A 1972 Doobie Brothers classic has been given a new lease on life...
Ton Johnston, Pat Simmons and John McFee have re-recorded "Listen to the Music" with help from musicians from India, Venezuela, Lebanon, Japan, Brazil, Congo, Senegal, Argentina, South Africa and the U.S.
The project, done for the multi-media collective Playing for Change, is the title track of an album of songs by Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead and others performed by more than 200 different musicians from around the world.
Some of the well-known Americans on the album are Jimmy Buffett, David Crosby, Buddy Guy, Warren Haynes, Dr. John and David Hidalgo of Los Lobos.
It will be released on April 20th.
