Metallica Loves Baseball
The sixth annual ‘Metallica Night’ took place at The San Francisco Giants home ballpark AT&T Park on April 24th. Members of the rock band were on hand to celebrate.
Drummer Lars Ulrich threw out the first pitch, bassist Robert Trujillo and guitarist Kirk Hammett helped out with the grounds-keeping and Hammet performed the “The Star-Spangled Banner”.

Members of Metallica also took part in various activities between innings including Hammett playing a rocked out rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the 7th inning stretch.
Metallica brought the Giants luck, as they defeated the Washington Nationals by a score of 4-2. Fans could also enter to win Hammett’s game-played guitar by making a donation to Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation.
