Could Billy Joel Present Bruce Springsteen His Tony Award
What is the internet without spreading rumors? Just cat videos and angry people. One writer is trying to get the rumor mill cranking with a prediction that Billy Joel will present Bruce Springsteen a Tony Award on Sunday night.
But NJArts.net’s Jay Lustig has some good reason to believe that this scenario could happen. Springsteen is confirmed to receive a Special Tony for his highly successful “Springsteen on Broadway” show.
Joel is on the list of presenters at the awards ceremony held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
It wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that The Piano Man could present The Boss that award. Joel already has a Tony for 2002’s “Movin’ Out” and the two are good friends, having appeared on stage several times together.
