Just a few miles from the Michigan border a man discovered a spider. Not just any spider, a 6 inch spider.

Jacob Collins posted pictures of the arachnid on his facebook page. His co-worker had discovered the creepy crawly on a boat they were working on. Collins said the co-worker, Tabatha Cooper, originally found the spider and tried to scare the rest of her team with it.

This spider is sure to give most Michigan residents the heebie-jeebies, but there is good news, the arachnid is a fishing spider, and mostly harmless. The creature is often found around bodies of water. It can also grow to the size of an adult human hand. Like nearly every spider in North America, it can bite and deliver venom, but its venom is not considered dangerous unless a specific allergy is present.
