Tom Petty Guitar Used On Bob Dylan Tour Going To Auction

Here's your chance to own a piece of rock and roll history. A guitar used by Tom Petty while on tour with Bob Dylan in 1986 is heading to auction.

The vintage 1965 Gibson SG will go up for bid by Heritage Auctions on July 21, with some of the proceeds benefitting two Southern California charities.

Norm Harris, who runs a rare guitar shop, initially sold the guitar to Petty, who then traded it back for another vintage instrument.

In addition to the guitar, a hat worn by the late rocker will also be on the block.
