The US Postal Service will celebrate John Lennon this fall with a postage stamp in honor of the late Beatles star.

Part of their series of Music Icons stamps, the Lennon stamp pane will resemble a vintage 45-rpm record sleeve, with artwork featuring a 1974 photo taken by rock photographer Bob Gruen for Lennon's Walls and Bridges album.

On the back of the 16 postage stamp sheet is a photo of Lennon at his white piano, which was used to promote his 1971 album, Imagine.

The stamp will be officially unveiled Friday, September 7 at a ceremony not far from when Lennon lived in New York City, at the Namburg Bandshell in Central Park.
