According to Showbiz 411 the great Aretha Franklin is gravely ill and the family is asking for prayers and privacy...

According to 411 Aretha is being treated at a local Detroit hospital and is with close family and friends as she battles for her life.

Originally diagnosed with cancer in 2010, Aretha, who turned 76 in March, bravely battled back and refused to be knocked out by illness. Her last performance as on November 2, 2017 for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Her final public performance was at Philadelphia’s Mann Center in August 2017.

Aretha will be missed as an amazing mother and friend as well as for her wonderful music including the single that Rolling Stone listed as the greatest of all time!

Here is something not many people may know. In Aretha's song "Good to me as I am to You" Eric Clapton is playing the guitar as a young studio musician early in his career.

Who remembers Jumpin' Jack Flash? If you do you'll remember Keith Richards joined Aretha and played guitar on this tune.

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
