Most people driving through Waterford have seen the remains of what used to be "Summit Place Mall". With all the talk of the mall finally being sold to DTE, an old story about a death in the parking lot of the shopping center has resurfaced.

Nearly 40 years ago the "Summit Place Mall" hosted the circus in its' parking lot and on a hot summer day an elephant named Little Jennie dropped dead.

The circumstances of her death required a burial on mall grounds.
Little Jennie was an aging Hollywood star living out life in the traveling circus.
