Macomb Factoids
-
Romeo Plank really was made of planks. Originally call, “Plank Road,” was the main toll road used by farmers… even sheep, dog, cattle and pigs had to pay if you wanted them to take Romeo Plank.
-
Macomb has a lot of German roots. The Frederick Kuchenmeister farmstead, built in the 1800’s, is still standing and registered as a historical site in Macomb Township. Frederick’s grandsons, Wayne and Norman created K/E Electrical Supply in 1962. The company did very well and helped Macomb build it’s infrastructure properly as it entered the stage of electrical appliances.
