A large lizard was found in Dearborn Heights on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 9, according to a Facebook post by City of Dearborn Heights Ordinance and Animal Control.
The lizard was found near North Brookside and Heather Lane and was then transported to Michigan Humane Society. People have thrown around some guesses of its species — tegu or monitor lizard, though nothing was confirmed by the department. Both are considered a small species and have been known to be house pets.
