New Baltimore Factoids
- New Baltimore is home to the Bay-Rama FishFly Festival every June. To date, the festival has raised over two million dollars to help better the New Baltimore community!
- New Baltimore was originally named “Ashley” after Alfred Ashley, a Mt. Clemens businessman who platted 60 acres around the area. The village kept Ashley’s name until 1867, when it changed to New Baltimore.
- German explorer Pierre Yax was the first recorded non-Native American in the New Baltimore area back in 1796. New Baltimore’s population is predominantly German to this day.
