With a month to go before 2019’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are announced, Joe Elliott says he isn’t losing sleep over whether his band makes the cut.
The Def Leppard frontman, whose group has been a staple of “snubbed bands” lists since it became eligible in 2005, says he and his band mates “weren’t looking for accolades when we got together as kids.” However, he adds, being inducted would make him happy for the band’s fans.
An act is eligible for nomination 25 years after the release of its first commercial recording. Qualified artists who have yet to be inducted include Sheryl Crow, Soundgarden, the Dave Matthews Band, Alice In Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Faith No More, Counting Crows and Nine Inch Nails.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on March 29, 2019 in New York.
