Veterans Day is observed annually on November 11 to honor military veterans and those who are actively serving our country in the United States armed forces. Since Veterans Day lands on a Sunday this year, the observed holiday will be Monday Nov. 12 for most federal employees.
Be sure to bring along proof of military service. Some exclusions apply.
Here's who is offering freebies and deals for Veterans Day:
- Applebee's
- Receive a free meal from a limited menu, on Nov 11.
- Buffalo Wild Wings
- Receive one small order of wings and a side of fries for free on Nov 11.
- California Pizza Kitchen
- Receive a complimentary entrée from a special menu on Nov 11.
- Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen
- On November 11, veterans will be provided a free appetizer or dessert
- Cracker Barrel
- Veterans get a complimentary slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake or a Crafted Coffee on November 11.
- Dunkin' Donuts
- Receive a free donut at participating locations on Nov 11.
- Friendly's
- Free breakfast, lunch or dinner from a limited menu on November 11.
- Golden Corral
- Golden Corral Restaurants' Military Appreciation Night free dinner will be available on November 12, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Military retirees, veterans, active duty, National Guard and Reserves are all welcome.
- Hooters
- On Sunday, November 11, all veterans who purchase a beverage at any participating Hooters location nationwide will receive a free entrée from the Hooters Veterans Day Menu (available for dine-in only).
- Kolache Factory
- Enjoy one free kolache (any kind) and one cup of freshly brewed coffee
- Little Caesars
- Receive a free $5 Lunch Combo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 11.
- LongHorn Steakhouse
- On November 11, veterans will receive a free appetizer or dessert, no purchase necessary. Their entire table can enjoy 10 percent off their meal.
- Olive Garden
- Free entrée from a limited menu available during business hours on Nov 11. Dine-in only; beverages and gratuity not included.
- Red Lobster
- Free appetizer or dessert from a select menu on November 11 and 12.
- Ruby Tuesday
- Free appetizer on November 11.
- Texas Corral
- Free entree from a special menu along with an iced tea, lemonade or coffee on November 11.
- Yard House
- Veterans and active duty military a complimentary appetizer on Nov. 11
- Brides Across America
- Brides Across America holds a wedding gown giveaway for military in partnership with bridal salons across the country in November. Qualifying brides register to attend the event at a participating bridal salon by completing the registration form and paying a $40 fee. Attend the event and select one of the designated gowns on display.
- Enterprise Car Sales
- Active duty military members, veterans and their dependents get a Firestone Prepaid Maintenance Package with any used vehicle purchase during the month of November.
- Grace for Vets
- Car washes from around the world who join this program offer free car washes to veterans and service members on November 11.
- Great Clips
- On November 11, veterans and current military members can visit a Great Clips salon on November 11 to receive either a free haircut or the free haircut card to use at a later date. Non-military customers can purchase a service on Veterans Day and get a free haircut card to give to a veteran you know. Haircuts are redeemable until Dec. 31.
- Home Depot
- Home Depot offers a 10% discount to all veterans on November 11. Home Depot offers the 10% discount year round to for active duty and retirees.
- Rack Room Shoes
- Military personnel and their dependents get a 10% discount off entire purchase on November 11.
- Sport Clips
- Participating locations are offering veterans and active duty service members free haircuts on November 11.

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona.
