- Before Berkley was a city, or even a village, it was a section of Royal Oak Township known by “R.F.D 504.” . Service began to the twenty or so scattered farm houses of RFD 504 beginning in 1902.
- Berkley was the only Michigan city named as one of Money Magazine’s top 50 Best Places to Live in the U.S. in 2015.
- Berkley’s slogan is “Small City - Big Impact!”
- Curtis Armstrong, best known for his roll as Booger in the Revenge of the Nerds films, graduated from Berkley High School.
