Remembering Those We Lost In 2018
As the year is coming to an end, it’s time to take a moment to remember those we lost in 2018…
Penny Marshall – Co-star of ABC’s acclaimed sitcom “Laverne & Shirley”. The actress went on to become a producer and a film director. She was 75 when she passed on Dec. 17, 2018.
Stan Lee – Comic book writer, editor and publisher who gave us the grand Marvel universe. Lee was 95 when he passed on Nov. 12, 2018.
Burt Reynolds – The star in films including “Smokey and the Bandit,” “Deliverance,” and “Boogie Nights” as well as TV’s “Gunsmoke,” passed away at age 82 on Sept. 6, 2018.
Aretha Franklin – The “Queen of Soul,” and the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in 1987. Franklin was an 18-time Grammy Award winner, and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom during George W. Bush’s presidency. She was 76 when she passed on Aug. 16, 2018.
Joe Jackson – The patriarch and music manager who helped catapult his children to stardom was 89 when he passed June 27, 2018.
Richard “The Old Man” Harrison – Richard Harrison, aka “The Old Man,” appeared on the History channel reality series “Pawn Stars,”. Harrison was 77 when he passed June 25, 2018.
Vinnie Paul – Co-founder and drummer of metal band Pantera and a current member of Hellyeah, was 54 when he passed June 22, 2018.
Anthony Bourdain – Celebrity chef, best-selling author and star of numerous culinary shows, was 61 when he passed June 8, 2018.
Kate Spade – Spade was internationally known for creating a popular line of sleek handbags in the early 1990s and founding Kate Spade New York, which has more than 140 retail shops and outlet stores across the United States and more than 175 shops internationally. She was 55 when she passed June 5, 2018.
Verne Troyer – Dr. Evil’s small, silent sidekick “Mini-Me” in the “Austin Powers” movie franchise was 49 when he passed April 21, 2018.
Stephen Hawking – British scientist who gained famed for his work with black holes and relativity, and wrote several popular science books was 76 when he passed March 14, 2018.
John Perry Barlow – lyricist for the Grateful Dead and founded Electronic Frontier Foundation was 70 when he passed Feb. 7, 2018.
Ray Thomas – founding member of the rock group The Moody Blues “Nights In White Satin” was 76 when he passed Jan. 4, 2018
