The Harlem Globetrotters are offering free tickets to furloughed federal works after the partial government shutdown left some 800,000 employees without a paycheck.
Globetrotter President Howard Smith issued a statement Wednesday announcing that government employees will be offered two complimentary game tickets as long as the shutdown continues.

- Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek on Thursday, January 24 at 7:00 p.m.
- Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 2:00 p.m.
- Convocation Center at Eastern Michigan University on Friday, February 1 at 7:00 p.m.
- McMorran Place in Port Huron on Saturday, February 2 at 2:00 p.m.
- DOW Event Center in Saginaw on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7:00 p.m.
- Breslin Center in East Lansing on Friday, March 1 7:00 p.m.
- Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Saturday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m.Any U.S. government employee currently on furlough can show their valid government ID at each venue’s box office for that particular game to claim two free tickets while supplies last. The offer is only valid during the current government shutdown and is not valid on previously purchased tickets.
Tickets are also available for purchase to the games starting at around $30.
The Globetrotters are currently in their 93rd consecutive season.
