VIDEO: KISS Lip Syncing Final Tour?
KISS fans on the internet are accusing Paul Stanley of lip syncing songs during their End of the Road tour concert in Vancouver, Canada. One fan referred to it as the “End of The Scam Tour.”
KISS have not yet responded to these accusations. However, back in 2015 Gene Simmons was quoted:
“I have a problem when you charge $100 to see a live show and the artist uses backing tracks,” Simmons says. “It’s like the ingredients in food, if the first ingredient on the label is sugar that’s at least honest. It should be on every ticket — you’re paying $100, 30 to 50 per cent of the show is (on) backing tracks and they’ll sing sometimes, sometimes they’ll lip sync. At least be honest. It’s not about backing tracks, it’s about dishonesty.”
Could Gene be a hypocrite with this statement? We don’t know.
The Vancouver Sun printed a positive review of the performance saying, “KISS is dependable like a Big Mac. The band is still breathing fire, putting the drummer up on a riser for an extended drum solo and all the other staples of its live performance established in 1974. Rather than seeming ridiculously dated, it’s like musical comfort food.”
Not everyone agreed with calling KISS ‘musical comfort food’, KISS fans are voicing their displeasure all over the internet, calling KISS’s performance ‘karaoke’ and complaining about having already spent over a hundred dollars on concert tickets.
