Red Wings legend and Hockey Hall of Famer Ted Lindsay has died at the age of 93.

He died under hospice care overnight.

Lindsay, known as "Terrible Ted," played for the Red Wings in the 1940s and 50s and helped the team win four Stanley cups. He was inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966.

Let's take a look back at a video that shows the amount of respect Ted had around the league.

A public viewing will take place for Detroit Red Wings great Ted Lindsay from 9:07 a.m.-7:07 p.m. Friday at Little Caesars Arena.

Memorial tributes can be sent to: Ted Lindsay Foundation, 1819 E. Big Beaver Road, Troy, MI 48083.

Head Coach Jeff Blashill told Brad Galli from WXYZ a great story about Ted:

Here are some players reactions to Ted's passing

Earlier in the week the Vancouver Canucks had a very nice tribute to Ted.

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
