The unnamed 50-year-old man, who uses a wheelchair, told police that he attempted to kill the cockroach by throwing a shoe that had a gun in it.
When the revolver fell out of the shoe, the gun went off , striking the man in the foot.
Detroit police officials told the Free Press that they could not confirm if the accidental, non-fatal shooting was because of a bug, but said the man was in stable condition after he was taken to a hospital and is now facing charges..
