If your tickets say the ship sets sail at a certain time, it's pretty likely the ship will leave at that time. That's a lesson one couple is now learning the hard way.

The pair showed up 45 minutes late to the Miami departure, only to find Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas had rolled up the gangway, leaving them behind in the Bahamas.

Perhaps hoping the ship would turn around, they tried frantically waving at the boat to no avail.

According to the UK Metro, those on the internet had very little sympathy for the couple, who are now on the hook to get themselves back to port.
