Single Day Record
A “Jeopardy!” contestant set a record for the single-day win total yesterday, with $110,914. And he intentionally ended on that amount to symbolize his daughter’s birthday: November 9th, of 2014.
A new milestone was reached on “Jeopardy!” last night, when contestant James Holzhauer SMASHED therecord for single-day win total.
James took home $110,914, which blew the previous record of $77,000 out of the water. That was done back in September of 2010 by Roger Craig.
James was already a three-day champion coming into yesterday’s episode . . . and now he’s made $244,365 during his four-day run.
He said was gunning for the record from the start. Quote, “I said all along that I wanted to break Roger Craig’s one-game record and I did it.”
There’s another really cool wrinkle to this story. The amount of the new record, $110,914, isn’t a random number. James intentionally ended on that amount to symbolize his daughter’s birthday: November 9th, 2014.
