Top 10 Coney Dogs in Michigan
The folks at Mlive set out to determine the restaurants with the absolute Best Coney Dogs in the state of Michigan.
How did they do this?
Well, first they broke it down to what constitutes a true coney dog: (1) a beef frankfurter in natural casing, (2) a steamed bun, (3) an all-meat topping, beanless chili, diced white onions and yellow mustard. There are two styles with include: Detroit Style, which is a more liquid or runny sauce, most likely requiring a fork and Flint Style, which is a meatier sauce with no fork necessary. And then they ate their way through the Mitten, Coney-style!
It all began back in 2012 with the Michigan Coney Dog Project, and now, seven years later, it’s time to revisit the top 10 list. Check out the list below of Michigan’s Best Coney Dogs in 2019, as complied by Mlive:
