Video: Lake Michigan Lock Ness
WHITING, IN - APRIL 06: Waves from Lake Michigan crash ashore on April 6, 2017 in Whiting, Indiana. The waves were pushed ashore by sustained winds estimated to be 20-30 mph and gusts of 40-50 mph. The wind prompted flash flood warnings in several communities along the lakefront. In nearby Chicago, the winds caused flight cancellations at O'Hare airport and property damage to several buildings in the city. (Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images)
A man watching a webcam feed of a storm battering Lake Michigan could not believe his eyes when a mysterious creature popped up out of the water…
Tim Wenzel checked out a stream from a TV station camera focused on the pier leading out to a lighthouse on the lake. A dark figure appears and seems to be washed over the pier to the other side of the water.
Tim posted it to his Facebook page, he joked that the footage showed “the ‘Lake Ness’ monster being washed over the south pier during the gale.”
Speculation as to what the anomaly could have been has largely centered around possible creatures which could be that size and also reside in Lake Michigan like a sturgeon, an eel, and a bull shark have all been suggested as suspects for the mysterious aquatic oddity. However, other observers have posited that perhaps the ‘creature’ was actually some kind of debris unleashed during the storm or even a huge piece of seaweed.
Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf!
Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
