Dale Earnhardt Jr., his wife Amy and their child were on a plane that crashed in Tennessee this afternoon (8/15).

Fox 8 reported that the Earnhardts were not injured.

WJML reported that Earnhardt Jr. was transported to a hospital following a plane crash at the Elizabethton Municipal Airport.

The Airport Manager Dan Cogan also told WJHL that the private plane ran off the end of the runway at Elizabethton Airport and caught fire.

Meanwhile, Fox 8 reported that everyone on the plane, including two pilots, are expected to be OK.

UPDATE: Early this morning, Dale Earnhardt's sister Kelley tweeted "Finally laying down for the night and want to say thank you to God, the angels among us, our pilots, first responders, medical staff, our NASCAR family and everyone that has reached out in whatever way to support us all."
