A fixture of downtown Detroit will no longer be known by the name of “Cobo” after today.
TCF Bank is holding a news conference to unveil Cobo Center’s new name in front of the convention center at 10 a.m. (August 27). The press conference will be followed by a block party. The Detroit Block Party includes free food catered by Slow’s BBQ, Centerplate and Detroit Water Ice Factory; interactive games; and performances by The Temptations and other local entertainment.
