Word is that The Devil Wear Prada is becoming a musical, with Elton John doing the score. According to the Chicago Tribune, the live musical, based on the 2006 movie featuring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, will premiere at the James M. Nederlander Theatre in Chicago next summer.
Elton John and Kevin McCollum’s (the musical’s producer) have not yet confirmed this.
If John worked on this project, it wouldn’t be farfetched considering he worked on The Lion King and Billy Elliot.
There is also no word yet on when (or if) the musical would transition to Broadway in New York City.
Elton John is currently on his Elton Farewell Tour through December 2020.
