Check Your Hood for Nuts
Squirrels are preparing for winter, collecting nuts and burying them for later.
Typically squirrels bury their nuts in the ground or in flower pots, but one squirrel wanted to make sure no other squirrels would find his food this winter, so he began storing them in the hood of one Pennsylvania couple’s Kia SUV.
By the time Chris and Holly Persic discovered the walnuts, there were over 200 of them under the hood along with some grass.
“Fortunately, it wasn’t all dry because they said it probably would have caught fire. So, yeah, check underneath your hood,” Chris Persic said.
Luckily, there was no damage to the vehicle.
“Funny thing is I was thinking that for how massive the tree is, and how many walnuts have fallen (and how many dents our vehicle received), there really aren’t many on the ground,” Persic said.
