Pepsi will be expanding its offerings in 2020 with Pepsi Cafe, a cola/coffee hybrid drink.

Available in 12 oz. cans in original and vanilla flavors, Pepsi Cafe will be released nationwide in April and will contain twice the amount of caffeine as a regular 12 oz. can of Pepsi.

In a statement, Pepsi's VP of Marketing Todd Kaplan said, "We know that the consumers today are looking for products that meet the needs of energy, indulgence, and refreshment during that afternoon pick-me-up occasion. At Pepsi, we've known the potential of blending cola and coffee for years and after striking the perfect balance, we cannot wait to introduce Pepsi Café to the US next year. We are confident that cola fans, iced coffee drinkers and anyone in need of an extra caffeine boost will love the unexpected flavor medley of roasted coffee infused into the refreshing, crisp flavor of Pepsi."

Pepsi humble brags in its press release that this isn't the first time they've released a cola/coffee beverage. In 1996, they released Pepsi Kona, which they referred to as "a product which was ahead of its time."

Rival Coca-Cola also released a cola/coffee drink called Coca-Cola Blak in the United States back in April 2006, but it would be discontinued in August 2007.
