Amazon Has Temporarily Stopped Selling New CDs and Vinyl
As if the music business wasn’t tough enough BEFORE the coronavirus . . . now, concerts, tours, and music festivals are canceled, and Amazon announced it would be halting incoming shipments of vinyl and CDs.
Amazon is “prioritizing [stocking] household staples, medical supplies, and other high-demand products” . . . and replenishing other non-essential stuff like CDs, vinyl, and books will be cut out, through at least April 5th.
But don’t get TOO worked up over it . . . it only affects the NEW stock coming into their fulfillment centers, not the massive supply already in their warehouses. So, if you’ve placed an order for something available on Amazon, it won’t be affected.
