WWE Talent Test Positive for COVID-19, AEW Talent Drop From Tapings Over COVID Contact
WWE and AEW have made the news due to stories involving their wrestlers and COVID-19.
Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reports “multiple people in WWE who have been at the Performance Center tested positive for COVID-19 this week, including in-ring talent.”
Specifics on which WWE superstar(s) have tested positive hasn’t been revealed, but this news follows reports last week of a “developmental talent” testing positive for COVID-19. At the time of publishing, WWE has not released a statement regarding these new reports.
AEW, meanwhile, has announced two members of their roster, QT Marshall and AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, will not be appearing on tonight’s episode of Dynamite on TNT due to coming into contact with non-wrestling personnel who have since tested positive for COVID-19.
President and CEO of AEW Tony Khan shared via Since last week’s show, in his everyday life, QT had brief contact with a non-wrestling acquaintance who since tested positive for COVID-19. Rather than risk bringing QT to our test site, our doc asked him to stay home & take a COVID test back in GA to protect the rest of us here https://t.co/eeN8VmF2nP
Khan followed that up with another Recently @JonMoxley had contact with someone who had contact with someone who has COVID-19. Mox did the right thing & warned us. Khan Jon Moxley can get slammed on a car, crawl through tacks & fall through the stage, but it’s every bit as cool that he came forward & told us he’d had secondhand exposure to COVID. We test everyone here at #AEWDynamite, but Jon protected everyone onsite like the great champ he is
