Paul McCartney continues his solo reissue campaign on July 31 with the remastered release of his 1997 album Flaming Pie, but a special preview is now available highlighting one of the album’s collaborations with Ringo Starr.

The Beautiful Night EP features a remastered version of the track “Beautiful Night,” as well as a “demo” and “run through” version of the track. The song is one of two tracks from Flaming Pie to feature Starr. The other track, “Really Love You,” is the first song ever to be credited to “McCartney/Starr.”

In a new interview with U.K.’s Evening Standard, Sir Paul says of working with Sir Ringo on the album, “I’d been saying to Ringo for years that it’d be great to do something, because we’d never really done that much work together outside The Beatles. One night [producer] Jeff [Lynne] suggested, ‘Why don’t you get Ringo in?’ and I said, ‘OK.’ It just sort of happened.”

Macca added, “I had this song ‘Beautiful Night’ which I’d written quite a few years ago. I’d always liked it but I felt I didn’t quite have the right version of it. So I got this song out for when Ringo was coming in, and right away it was like the old days. I realized we hadn’t done this for so long, but it was really comfortable and it was still there…So, you know, it’s a sort of magic.”

A new video for “Beautiful Night” is set to premiere at 12 PM EST today (July 17) in the YouTube player below.
