Arts, Beats & Eats Festival Goes Virtual and Offers Drive-In Concert Series

"The Beats Go On" event will feature virtual concerts, plus live, drive-in concerts to try to raise $500,000 for local musicians.
More than 400 bands in 15 genres are set to perform virtually from Aug. 27 through Sept. 3. Bands will raise funds from their performances. More information on the virtual shows will be available in the coming weeks, according to event organizers.
In addition to the online shows, from Sept. 4 to 7 a handful of limited-occupancy drive-in concerts will take place in downtown Royal Oak. Shows will be limited to 50 vehicles per show. Tickets will run $30 and allow for two people per vehicle.
The event is also expected to offer "Art by Appointment," where visitors are able to schedule time to visit with artists and buy their art.
