According to a new study by The Zebra about single female home ownership, Detroit is actually the No. 1 city for female homeowners.
Detroit also, according to the study, has the highest number of singles in the U.S.
"Detroit is home to affordable housing, the highest percentage of singles and a high percentage of single female homeowners (10.11%)," the study states. "Plus, the gender pay ratio is 92.4%, well above the national average. While Detroit made headlines for a housing crisis that saw 31,000 homes abandoned, the city is seeing a resurgence now that it’s out of bankruptcy."
Memphis, Tennessee, comes in at No. 2 on the list, followed by Hartford, Connecticut; Baltimore, Maryland; and Buffalo, New York.
