Sure, 2020 is filled with some negative stuff, but at least we’re getting a one-hour South Park special out of it.

Comedy Central has announced it will air a one-hour episode of the famed animated series devoted to the coronavirus pandemic.

The episode, dubbed “The Pandemic Special,” will feature Randy Marsh announcing a “pandemic special” of sorts, trying to cash in on the crisis, and Cartman worrying about being forced to return to school. Leave it to South Park to bring some comic relief into the pandemic!

The official episode description states, “Randy comes to terms with his role in the COVID-19 outbreak as the on-going pandemic presents continued challenges to the citizens of South Park. The kids happily head back to school but nothing resembles the normal that they once knew; not their teachers, not their homeroom, not even Eric Cartman.”

“The Pandemic Special” marks the first time South Park has ever aired an hour-long episode.

The episode will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 8:00 p.m. It will be available on HBO Max 24 hours after its premiere.
