The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
November 10, 1975, The Edmund Fitzgerald was lost with the entire crew of 29 men on Lake Superior. The legend of the Edmund Fitzgerald remains one the most mysterious shipwreck tales heard around the Great Lakes. Gordon Lightfoot sparked popular interest in the ship with his 1976 ballad, “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.”
