Kalamazoo's famed Gibson Mandolin-Guitar Manufacturing Co. site is being redeveloped into a new hotel.

Hard Rock Hotels released a statement today (March 1) with their plans for the new hotel development, citing an anticipated completion date of Fall 2023.

The REVERB by Hard Rock Kalamazoo would be located at 225 Parsons St. and feature a range of amenities, including a Body Rock Fitness gym, bar, brewery and restaurant, banquet facility, auditorium, museum and signing room.

According to the release, the new hotel would keep the historic parts of the Gibson site.

"This transformational project provides new jobs and investment in the neighborhood and is made possible by our local, state and federal development partnerships contributing incentive support. We look forward to sharing this redeveloped site with the community and music lovers far and wide," Andy Wenzel, the executive vice president of PlazaCorp, said in the statement.

Gibson moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in the 1980s, but their Kalamazoo building opened back in 1917.

The new hotel would be in partnership with PlazaCorp Realty Advisors and Dora Hotel Co.
