"Journey To The Center Of The Mind" was written by one of The Amboy Dukes guitarist, Steve Farmer. He wrote the song to describe the feeling of an acid trip, which was a drug big in the 60's. The other guitarist and founder of the group is Ted Nugent, takes pride in his drug-free lifestyle and claims he thought the song was about looking inside yourself, not drugs.
