Michigan Is Getting Its First Sober Bar
If drinking alcohol isn’t your thing, then make note that Michigan is getting its first sober bar.
Wing Heaven Sports Haven opens in Lansing, Michigan, today (March 15), and the sports bar has everything you would expect, from big TVs to pool tables– but no alcohol.
The bar, owned by Teresa Stokes and Ayanna Ballard, caters to those who are in recovery, probation or just don’t like to be around alcohol. After all, anyone who has been the DD knows how lonely it can feel to be the only sober one in the group! Yes, I’m speaking from experience!
The bar is located at 3812 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and hours are from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
“For the time being we are going to do carry out only, but while you wait for your order, you are able to come in and play games or wait at a table,” the bar says on its official Facebook page. “We do ask that everyone please wear a mask while in the building unless taking a drink from their purchased beverage!”
Food options include fish and shrimp, chicken stirps, boneless wings, burgers, macaroni wedges, fried pickles and more. Yum!
Specialty “drinks” include Mermaid Lemonade, Cherry Limeade, Bangin’ Blueberry Lemonade and more.
